Category A: Roads 60km and under (often described as urban 

The STMS Category A Non-Practicing training course is a theory class-based training course that is up to 8 hours.

Those who successfully complete the STMS CAT A NP course will be awarded the STMS (A) - NP qualification. This is for Unit Standard 31962 and they can further enrol to obtain their practicing qualification if desired that is under US31963.

  • How to locate information in the CoPTTM relating to category A roads

Prerequisites

There are no mandatory prerequisites for this course, however we highly recommend having:

  • either TMO-NP or
  • TMO-P and
  • either STMS - Universal NP or
  • STMS of any other level or category
